Keyed Cable Lock for Laptops and Docks

The Tripp Lite SEC6K secures laptops and docking stations that have a built-in security slot. A 6 ft theft-deterrent cable resists cuts and tampering in offices, classrooms and other high-traffic locations. The lock body uses nickel-plated zinc alloy for strength. Protective PVC coating prevents damage to furniture surfaces. Two keys and an owner's manual are included in the package.

Suitable for Portable Devices with Standard Slots

This lock suits users who need to anchor a notebook or dock to a desk, table or fixed structure in shared spaces. The keyed mechanism provides a physical deterrent against opportunistic theft. Buyers whose hardware lacks a compatible security slot cannot use this lock. It also does not serve devices that require a combination code or a master-keyed system for fleet management.

Six-Foot Cut-Resistant Cable Length

The 6 ft cable length decides whether the lock reaches your anchor point from the device. Measure the distance from the security slot to the desk leg or mount before buying. A shorter run may leave excess cable; a longer run will not connect. The PVC jacket protects both the cable and the furniture during daily use.

Questions about this item

How does the 6 ft cable length work when the lock is attached to a desk?

The theft-deterrent cable reaches 6 ft and resists cuts, letting you loop it around a table leg or fixed structure while the coated PVC protects surfaces.

What type of security slot does the lock engage with?

It is designed for laptops and docking stations that have a built-in security slot, so the lock head inserts directly into that standard opening.

What mounting hardware is included for the fixed end?

The package supplies the lock with 6 ft cable and two keys; the cable simply wraps around a table, desk or other fixed structure.
