  • Twisted 28/24 data and power lines maintain signal quality
  • Backward compatible with earlier USB generations for broad device support

Fixed-location USB 3.0 access

This keystone extension cable mounts a USB 3.0 Type-A female port into a universal wallplate, outlet box or panel. The three-foot cable links the keystone jack to a standard USB-A male plug. It suits installers who want a permanent, professional-looking USB port at a desk, conference table or equipment rack.

Sustained 5 Gbps throughput

Twisted 28 AWG data and 24 AWG power conductors maintain SuperSpeed rates up to 5 Gbps during continuous transfers. Full-duplex signalling lets data move both directions simultaneously without the bottlenecks seen on half-duplex links. Backward compatibility preserves function with older USB devices when they are connected.

Replaces loose or panel-mounted cables

The keystone snap-in design replaces dangling extension cords or bulkier panel-mount cables that lack a standard keystone footprint. The upgrade is worth it when a clean, flush-mount port is required and the three-foot reach reaches the host without excess slack. It does not suit runs longer than three feet or installations needing a USB-C interface.

Questions about this item

Will the 3 ft length and 28/24 twisted conductors add noticeable heat or power loss when the cable runs all day?

The 3 ft link uses twisted 28/24 data and power lines designed for USB 3.0 SuperSpeed, so heat and power loss remain negligible during continuous operation.

What keystone hardware must I already own to snap the USB-A female jack into a fixed location?

You need a universal keystone wallplate, outlet box or panel with a standard keystone cutout; the female connector snaps directly into that opening.

Will USB 2.0 flash drives and older peripherals work through this 3 ft extension at their normal speeds?

The cable is backward compatible with earlier USB generations, so USB 2.0 devices operate at their native rates across the 3 ft link.
