It delivers up to 770 mA of bus power to the connected device, so many peripherals run without an external adapter. If a device needs more current than 770 mA, an external power supply must be added. Both the host port and the peripheral must be USB 3.0 to achieve the rated 5 Gbps speed.

Daisy-chain to 33 ft for longer runs
