USB4 40Gbps Cable for 8K 60Hz Displays

This USB-C to USB-C cable carries USB4 data at up to 40Gbps and drives 8K displays at 60Hz. It links laptops, smartphones, docks and PCs that have USB-C or Thunderbolt 3 ports. The 1.2m length suits typical desktop or bench setups.

Best for High-Bandwidth Display and Data Links

Creators moving large video files between a workstation and a dock, or driving an 8K monitor from a USB4 host, will use the full throughput. Builders whose devices only support 10Gbps or 5Gbps USB signalling will see no speed benefit over a cheaper cable. Users needing longer runs should select a different length.

40Gbps USB4 Throughput Decides Fit

The single spec that matters is the certified 40Gbps USB4 data rate. If the host and peripheral both negotiate that speed, the cable delivers full bandwidth for 8K 60Hz video and fast storage. If either end caps out at a lower USB rate, the cable simply operates at that lower rate.

Questions about this item

Should I pick the 1.2 m length or a longer version for full 40 Gbps speed?

The 1.2 m cable maintains the full 40 Gbps rating and 8K 60 Hz support; longer passive cables typically reduce speed.

Will this cable deliver 8K at 60 Hz on my laptop?

Yes, it supports 8K 60 Hz video when both the host and display support that resolution over USB-C.

Is the USB4 40 Gbps interface the same as Thunderbolt 3 for docks?

It works with Thunderbolt 3 ports and docks, providing up to 40 Gbps data and 8K 60 Hz video.
