A finished-bore steel sprocket with 40 teeth, 3/4 in bore, keyway and set screws for 35 chain
This finished-bore sprocket fits a 3/4 inch shaft and carries 40 teeth for #35 roller chain. The black-oxide steel body includes a keyway and two set screws for positive drive. It is sold as a collectible piece of power-transmission hardware.
Replaces a damaged or lower-tooth-count sprocket on the same 3/4 inch bore when the application demands the 4.78 inch pitch diameter. The jump is worth it when the existing hub profile and keyway dimensions match the 2 1/4 inch hub diameter and 3/16 inch keyway width exactly.
The 4.99 inch outside diameter and 1 inch length through bore give full tooth engagement for single-strand #35 chain. It runs out when the shaft size differs from 3/4 inch, when a double-strand chain is required, or when a different hub projection than 0.832 inch is specified.

The sprocket has a fixed 3/4 in bore diameter with a 3/16 in keyway width and 3/32 in keyway depth, matching a standard 3/4 in shaft with a corresponding key seat.
The two set screws tighten against the shaft; one typically seats into the keyway while the other locks on the flat, preventing rotation once the 1 in length-through-bore is positioned.
Replace the sprocket when the 40 teeth show hooked wear, the 4.99 in outside diameter has reduced measurably, or the black-oxide coating has worn through exposing bare steel to rapid corrosion.
