Radial Ball Bearing 1641

The Tritan 3863 2RS PRX is a radial ball bearing identified by industry number 1641. It is supplied new for industrial maintenance or machinery repair where a 1 in bore double-sealed unit is required.

Compatibility check

Verify that the shaft measures 1 in with a tolerance of +0/- 0.0004 in and that the housing accepts a 2 in outside diameter. Confirm the application runs in an oily or greasy environment and that a contact seal with Polyrex EM lubricant suits the operating conditions.

Thermals noise and power

The bearing uses alloy steel rings and AISI 52100 grade balls with a steel cage, rated for a dynamic radial load capacity of 3,150 lbf. The double-sealed contact design retains lubricant and excludes contaminants during normal operation.

Questions about this item

What comes in the box and do I need to buy a retaining ring separately?

The box contains the 3863 2RS PRX radial ball bearing only; no retaining ring is included, so purchase one separately if your shaft design requires it.

How do I decide between the ABEC 1 rating and a higher precision class for the 1641 size?

ABEC 1 gives standard running tolerance for the 1 in bore; choose a higher class only if your application demands tighter bore tolerance than the +0/-0.0004 in spec.

What does the 3 150 lbf dynamic radial load capacity mean once the bearing is installed in a machine?

It is the maximum steady radial load the 1641 bearing can carry at rated speed with the factory Polyrex EM grease; exceeding it reduces calculated life.
