Mechanical power-transmission sprocket

The Tritan D40BS12H is a finished-bore roller chain sprocket with 12 teeth and a 3/4-inch bore. It suits maintenance engineers and hobbyists who need a replacement drive component for #40-2 double-strand chain systems.

Straightforward shaft mounting

The sprocket slides onto a 3/4-inch shaft and locks with the supplied set screws engaging the 3/16-inch keyway. Misalignment or an undersized key will cause premature wear, so verify shaft diameter and key dimensions before tightening.

Verify chain and space constraints

Confirm the drive uses 1/2-inch pitch double-strand chain and that the 2.17-inch outside diameter clears adjacent guards. The 1 9/16-inch hub diameter and 1 1/2-inch length through bore must fit within the available axial space.

Questions about this item

How can I confirm the sprocket is running true after mounting it on a 3/4 in shaft?

Check for smooth rotation without wobble, verify the 1.932 in pitch diameter engages the 40-2 chain cleanly, and ensure the 3/16 in keyway and set screws hold the 1 1/2 in length through bore securely.

What hardware comes with the sprocket and what must I source separately?

The sprocket includes set screws for the 3/4 in finished bore with 3/16 in keyway; you must supply the 3/4 in shaft, 40-2 double-strand roller chain, and any mounting hardware.

When should I choose the 12-tooth version over other tooth counts?

Select the 12-tooth D40BS12H when your design requires a 2.17 in outside diameter and 1.932 in pitch diameter for 1/2 in pitch 40-2 chain in a double-strand layout.
