Dual-band flexible whip antenna for two-way radios operating at 145/435 MHz with SMA-female connector and 2.15 dB gain
The TC-778BE is a flexible whip antenna built for handheld two-way radios that use an SMA-male connector. It covers the 145 MHz and 435 MHz amateur bands with a 2.15 dB gain and vertical polarisation. The black radome and SMA-female termination let it attach directly to compatible Baofeng, Wouxun, Kenwood and other listed models. It handles up to 10 W of transmit power.
The antenna radiates equally in all horizontal directions, so no aiming is required during mobile or base operation. A 50 Ohm impedance match keeps reflected power low across both bands. The flexible whip construction absorbs vibration and reduces the chance of connector damage when the radio is clipped to a belt or pack.
The SMA-female thread mates with any radio that presents an SMA-male port, freeing the user from proprietary adapters. Its compact whip profile adds minimal bulk, leaving the radio’s controls and display fully accessible. Builders who need a different connector type or a band outside 145/435 MHz will need a separate antenna solution.

Screw the SMA-female connector onto the radio's SMA-male port until snug; the step often missed is checking that the centre pin seats fully before tightening.
Inspect the flexible whip for cracks and the SMA threads for corrosion; replace the antenna if the radome splits or VSWR rises noticeably.
The 10 W maximum power input rating is the first limit; sustained operation at that level can overheat the feed point and degrade performance.
