This lens mounts on Fujifilm GFX medium-format cameras and delivers a 104-degree angle of view. The optical design uses 17 elements in 11 groups to resolve fine detail across a 64mm image circle. Photographers working in architecture and landscape gain precise perspective control without stitching multiple frames.

Build and daily handling

A metal barrel houses the tilt and shift mechanisms, each offering 8 degrees of tilt and 8mm of shift for independent adjustment. The 10-blade diaphragm produces smooth bokeh and renders ten-point starbursts when stopped down. Manual focus and aperture rings let the operator set exposure and plane of focus without menu diving.

Upgrade path and when to switch

Moving from a standard wide-angle removes the keystone distortion that plagues tall buildings and interiors. The larger image circle also covers GFX sensors with generous movements, something full-frame lenses at 43.2mm and smaller medium-format circles at 54.8mm cannot guarantee. The jump is worthwhile when perspective correction and creative tilt effects are daily requirements.
