What this cover plate does

The Tuff Stuff TUF016 is a steel door hole cover plate with a 2-5/8 inch outside diameter. It conceals existing bore holes ranging from 1/2 inch to 2-1/8 inch on doors up to 1-3/4 inch thick. The prime-coated finish allows the plate to be painted to match surrounding hardware. It is intended for entry doors where knob latch or deadbolt hardware has been removed.

No moving parts or power draw

Because the plate is a passive steel component it generates no heat, produces no noise and draws no electrical power. Installation relies on simple mechanical fastening rather than any active system. Normal use therefore adds no thermal load and requires no ongoing energy cost.
