Multiplatform 3.5 mm gaming headset

The Turtle Beach Recon 70 is a wired headset with a 3.5 mm connector that works with PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PC and mobile devices. It uses 40 mm over-ear speakers and a high-sensitivity flip-to-mute microphone. The lightweight frame weighs 0.84 pounds and includes synthetic leather ear cushions for noise isolation.

Check your device has a 3.5 mm audio jack

This headset connects only through a 3.5 mm wired connection so the host device must provide that port. No USB, Bluetooth or wireless adapter is included in the package. Verify that your controller or system offers a standard 3.5 mm headset jack before ordering.

Upgrades basic bundled headsets and mobile earbuds

The Recon 70 replaces low-cost pack-in headsets or simple in-ear buds with larger 40 mm drivers, a flip-up mute mic and on-ear volume control. The jump is worth it when you want clearer chat, better bass response and longer-session comfort without moving to a premium price tier.

Questions about this item

Does the headset ship with anything besides the headset itself, or must I buy a separate splitter cable for PC?

The Recon 70 is a single 3.5 mm 4-pole plug headset; no splitter, adapter or extra cable is included in the box.

The listing shows only one black model — are there different driver sizes or microphone types to choose from?

Every Recon 70 unit uses the same 40 mm drivers and the same flip-to-mute boom mic; the only variation is colour.

What does the 18 Hz – 20 kHz frequency response actually deliver when I’m gaming on a PS5 controller?

The range covers the full span of human hearing, so explosions, footsteps and voice chat all come through without roll-off at the extremes.
