Complete Mini Watercolor Kit

The Tuuhins YLTZ set delivers 12 colors across a 15-compartment wooden palette with three extra mixing wells. It includes five brushes, a sketchbook, a metal binder clip and a sturdy color storage box. The kit weighs 0.66 pounds and measures 7.4 by 4.33 by 1.97 inches when closed.

Suited for Plein Air and Urban Sketching

Artists who need a pocket-sized kit for outdoor work will appreciate the 2.95-inch square closed form and 5.9-inch open width. Painters requiring larger palettes, more than 12 colors or heavier paper formats should look at full-size studio sets instead.

Capacity and Headroom

Twelve pans and three mixing wells handle quick colour studies and travel journals comfortably. The compact 2.95-inch wells limit the volume of paint per colour, so extended sessions or large washes will run out faster than on a full-size palette.

Questions about this item

What paper does the included sketchbook use so the 12 colors perform as intended?

The kit contains a sketchbook sized for the 2.95 x 5.9 inch open palette, giving you a ready surface for the 12 watercolor pans and 3 mixing wells.

Will the 5 supplied brushes handle the same washes I get from my full-size sable brushes?

The five brushes fit inside the 7.4 x 4.33 x 1.97 inch wooden box and are chosen for the 12-color mini palette, so they work for field sketches but hold less water than large studio brushes.

How do I know the magnetic closure on the wooden box is holding the 15 compartments securely?

When the lid snaps shut with an audible click and the 0.66 lb case stays closed when tilted, the magnets are keeping all 12 pans, 3 wells, brushes and sketchbook in place.
