5 GHz RocketDish conversion kit

This kit converts a RocketDish RD-5G30 or RD-5G34 antenna for use with an airFiber AF-5X radio. It is intended for network operators upgrading existing 5 GHz dish installations to airFiber technology. Buyers who need a complete antenna and radio package should look elsewhere.

Slant 45 polarisation and mounting

The kit adopts a slant 45 polarisation geometry for the converted link. Physical dimensions are 2.70 inches in height, 2.90 inches in width and 3.00 inches in length. Shipping weight is 0.25 pounds. No thermal, noise or power-draw figures are provided for this passive accessory.

Included conversion hardware

The package supplies the orthomode transducer and mounting hardware required for the antenna conversion. No software, licences or active electronic components are bundled. Installers must supply the compatible RocketDish antenna and airFiber radio separately.

Questions about this item

How do I install the AF-5G-OMT-S45 kit onto a RocketDish RD-5G30 or RD-5G34?

Remove the existing RocketDish feed, align the slant 45 OMT unit with the antenna aperture, and secure it using the supplied mounting hardware.

What maintenance will the AF-5G-OMT-S45 conversion kit require over time?

The passive slant 45 OMT has no moving parts; periodically inspect the radome seal and mounting bolts for weather tightness.

What physical limit appears first when the AF-5G-OMT-S45 is used continuously in high winds?

The 0.25 lb assembly mounts on a 2.70 x 2.90 x 3.00 in frame; sustained wind load on the dish structure is the limiting factor.
