Ubiquiti Networks airFiber 60 GHz Radio System AF60-US

Point-to-point radio for low-interference links

The AF60-US is a 60 GHz radio system with an integrated high-gain dish antenna designed for long-range wireless connectivity. It includes a 5 GHz radio that provides automatic backup when the primary link degrades. This hardware suits network operators and integrators who need carrier-grade throughput without licensed spectrum.

Upgrade from congested 5 GHz-only bridges

The jump is worth it when existing links suffer from spectrum crowding or require higher sustained throughput than a single 5 GHz radio can deliver. The 60 GHz band offers a cleaner noise floor, while the 5 GHz fallback maintains availability during heavy rain or obstruction. It replaces point-to-point gear that cannot dynamically adapt channel width to link conditions.

Up to 2 km range with 1 Gbps throughput headroom

The system comfortably handles full-duplex gigabit traffic across clear line-of-sight paths up to two kilometres. Automatic switching between 2 GHz and 1 GHz channel widths preserves capacity as signal quality varies. Integrated GPS simplifies alignment and timing for multi-site deployments. Heavy precipitation or solid obstacles will reduce the 60 GHz link margin, triggering the 5 GHz backup at lower bandwidth.
