USB 3.0 Extension Cable 2-Pack

This two-pack of male-to-female USB 3.0 extension cables adds three feet of reach to printers, mice, keyboards, flash drives, hard drives, hubs, VR headsets and game consoles. Each cable uses a nylon braided jacket and aluminium alloy connectors for a durable, tangle-resistant feel. Triple shielding with tinned copper, aluminium foil and a ground wire keeps data stable at the rated 5 Gbps. The cords are backward compatible with USB 2.0, 1.1 and 1.0 devices.

Replacing Short or Worn Factory Cables

The extensions replace the short cables that ship with many peripherals or worn leads that no longer seat firmly. The jump is worth it when a device sits farther from the host port than the original cable allows, or when frequent plugging and unplugging has damaged the stock connector. With a tested lifespan of more than 10000 bend cycles, the braided jacket resists the fraying that typically ends a cable's useful life.

Simple Plug-and-Play Installation

Installation is a straight plug into any standard USB-A port; no drivers or configuration are required. The snug aluminium shells reduce the chance of a loose connection that causes intermittent disconnects. The only common issue is attempting to draw more current than the host port can supply, which may cause power-hungry drives to fail to spin up.

Questions about this item

What length and connector type does each cable in the 2-pack provide?

Each pack contains two cables measuring 3 ft with a USB 3.0 male plug on one end and a female port on the other.

How do I connect the cable so the 5 Gbps link works, and what mistake should I avoid?

Plug the male end into the host or hub and the device into the female end; the common error is using a USB 2.0 port, which drops speed to 480 Mbps.

When should I replace the cable given its 10000 bend rating?

Replace it if the braided jacket frays, connectors loosen, or data drops to USB 1.1 or 1.0 speeds despite firm seating.
