Right-Angle USB-A to USB-C Cable

The Ugreen cable connects a standard USB-A port to a USB-C device using a 90-degree connector that reduces strain on the port. It measures 1.6ft and supports USB 2.0 data rates of 480 Mbps. The nylon-braided jacket and aluminum housing are rated for 20000 bends and 3000 insertion cycles. This cable is intended for charging and data sync only; video transmission is not supported.

Upgrade from Straight USB-A to USB-C Leads

The right-angle design keeps the cable flush against the device, making it easier to use a phone or tablet while it charges. The 18W fast-charging capability can fill a compatible handset in roughly 1.5 hours, and 1G of data moves in about 30 seconds. Buyers who need longer reach or USB 3.0 speeds should select a different length or specification, as this model is fixed at 1.6ft and 480 Mbps.

Build Integration and Clearance Notes

The USB-A plug has a fixed orientation, so the port must face the correct direction for the 90-degree bend to sit flat. The connector housing requires a case cut-out no thicker than 0.08in or 2mm; thicker cases will prevent a secure fit. The cable works with any USB-A charger or host port and any USB-C device that accepts USB 2.0 signalling, freeing the user from proprietary connectors.

Questions about this item

How thick a phone case can the 90-degree USB-C plug clear?

The right-angle connector fits cases up to 0.08 inch (2 mm) thick; thicker cases may prevent a full seat.

Which way round does the USB-A plug go in, and what is the common mistake?

The USB-A end has a fixed orientation — insert it with the metal contacts facing down; forcing it upside-down is the usual error.

How long before the braided jacket or connectors wear out?

Rated for over 20 000 bends and 3 000 plug cycles, so typical daily use should last years before replacement.
