46mm Close-Up Macro Filter Set

The set contains four multi-coated close-up lenses in +1, +2, +4 and +10 diopter strengths. They thread onto any 46mm filter mount found on digital still and video cameras. Each lens lets the primary optic focus closer to the subject for larger image scale. Photographers wanting macro capability without a dedicated lens can use them singly or stacked.

Capacity and headroom with four diopters

Stacking the filters combines their power, so +1 through +10 can be mixed for intermediate magnifications. The +10 alone gives the strongest close-up effect, while lighter diopters suit less extreme magnification. Optical quality holds up at moderate apertures, but stacking several filters increases the chance of softness or flare at the edges. Very high combined diopters demand precise focus and ample light.

Thermals noise and power in normal use

Passive glass elements generate no heat and draw no power, so camera battery life is unaffected. The thin metal rings add negligible weight and produce no mechanical noise during shooting. Multi-coating reduces internal reflections that can lower contrast in bright conditions. A supplied wallet protects the filters from dust and scratches when stored.
