MicroSD Card Reader for Mobile Workflows

The Ultimaxx Multi High Speed reader accepts MicroSD, SDHC and SDXC cards in a single slot. It connects through a standard USB interface with plug-and-play operation on Windows and Mac systems. Photographers and field workers can offload footage without draining camera batteries.

USB Interface Limits Transfer Rates

Data moves at the speed permitted by the host USB port and the inserted card's own rating. The reader itself adds no protocol overhead beyond the USB connection. Actual throughput will vary with the card class and the computer's controller.

Single MicroSD Slot Defines Capacity

Only one MicroSD card can be read at a time, so simultaneous multi-card workflows are not supported. Buyers needing concurrent access to several cards should choose a different device.

Questions about this item

Should I pick a standard MicroSD or a higher-capacity MicroSDHC/SDXC card for this reader?

The reader accepts all Secure Digital versions, including standard MicroSD, MicroSDHC and MicroSDXC cards, so choose the capacity your device requires.

What does "Rapid Data Transfer" mean when the reader is plugged into my laptop?

It reads and writes to MicroSD cards at the speed the card supports over a High-Speed USB connection, limited by the USB link rather than the reader itself.

Which USB standard does the reader use and what does that limit in practice?

It uses High-Speed USB, so the maximum throughput is capped by the USB 2.0 bus, not by the card's own rating.
