Portable Air Cleaner For Large Rooms

The Ultra-Sun SP-20C/120V is a freestanding portable air cleaner designed for rooms up to 2000 sq ft. It uses a 5-stage filtration process to capture particles down to .3 micron with 99 percent filter efficiency. The unit operates on 120V AC single-phase power at 50 or 60 Hz and draws .9 amps.

Thermals Noise And Power In Normal Use

The cleaner runs at 110 watts and offers seven speed settings to match airflow needs. Sound output ranges from 48 to 68 dBA depending on the selected speed. At 286 CFM, it moves a substantial volume of air through the white plastic housing measuring 18 in high by 22 in wide by 8 in deep.

Behaviour Under Sustained Load

Continuous operation is supported by the CSA and UL listed design for safe long-term use. The 8 ft power cord allows flexible placement away from outlets during extended cleaning cycles. Filter performance remains consistent at the rated .3 micron capture level throughout prolonged runtime without degradation.

Questions about this item

How do I set up the SP-20C/120V and which step is often missed?

Place the unit on a flat surface within 8 feet of a 120 V AC outlet, plug it in and select one of the 7 speeds; the step people skip is allowing at least a few inches of clearance around the 18 in tall cabinet so the 286 CFM airflow is not restricted.

What filters or lamps will need replacing on the 5-stage cleaner?

The media filters that capture particles down to 0.3 micron at 99 percent efficiency and the UV lamp inside the 5-stage system will both require periodic replacement to maintain rated performance.

What is the first limit reached during continuous operation?

Sound level rises to 68 dBA at the highest of the 7 speeds, so noise becomes the practical ceiling before the 110 W motor or 0.9 A draw hits any thermal limit.
