What this battery powers

The Ultralast 1.5V Silver Oxide Battery replaces SR59, D396 and 396BP cells in compatible devices. It suits owners of watches, calculators, medical instruments or small electronics that specify this exact chemistry and voltage. Buyers who need a different voltage, a lithium chemistry or a larger capacity will not be served by this cell.

Installing the cell

The battery inserts directly into the device’s spring or clip holder; no tools or soldering are required. Ensure the positive side faces the marked contact and that the compartment is clean and dry. A reversed or corroded contact is the most common reason the device fails to start after replacement.

Steady voltage delivery

Silver oxide chemistry maintains a stable 1.5V output across most of its discharge curve rather than sagging quickly under load. This keeps timekeeping and low-drain circuits accurate for the cell’s usable life. The voltage will eventually drop when the active material is depleted.

Questions about this item

How do I verify the 1.5V silver oxide cell is working after installation?

The device should power on immediately and maintain steady operation; a multimeter reading near 1.5 V confirms the cell is delivering its rated voltage.

What comes in the package and what must I purchase separately?

The pack contains the Ultralast SR59/D396/396BP silver oxide battery; no additional accessories are included, so any required holder or tool must be sourced separately.

Which version matches my device — SR59, D396 or 396BP?

All three designations refer to the same 1.5 V silver oxide chemistry and dimensions; choose the code printed on your old cell or in the equipment manual.
