Carbon Brush Replacements

These 16mm carbon brushes suit electric drills and similar power tools. They address worn brushes that cause poor motor running or intermittent operation. The pack contains two pairs for a complete motor refresh.

Build and Fit

Each brush measures approximately 6 x 9 x 16mm and weighs very little. The black, silver and gold tones indicate the carbon and metal contact surfaces. They slot into standard brush holders for straightforward installation.

Motor Operation

Fresh brushes restore consistent electrical contact to the commutator. This reduces sparking and helps the motor run smoothly under load. Electric braking function is also returned to normal operation.

Questions about this item

What size carbon brushes are these 16mm tall units designed to replace?

These brushes measure 6mm by 9mm by 16mm and suit electric drills needing that exact cross-section and height.

What physical clearance is needed for the 16mm brush height and spring assembly?

The motor brush holder must accept a 16mm tall carbon block plus its spring and lead without binding against the end cap.

How are these brushes installed and which step is often missed?

Remove the old brushes, seat the new 16mm pair in the holders, and ensure the spring seats squarely so the carbon contacts the commutator evenly.
