What These Are

These clip-on ferrite cores suppress RFI and EMI noise on cables with a diameter of 1.5-3.5mm. They suit power cords, audio leads, USB cables and similar wires. The pack contains 10 black rings sized 13 x 25mm for easy installation near interference sources.

Installation Limits

Place each core as close as possible to the noise source or the shielded enclosure entry point. Cables with sensitive equipment at both ends need one core at each end. Identifying the offending device first is necessary for the filter to work correctly.

Deciding Specification

The critical figure is the 1.5-3.5mm cable diameter range. Measure your wire before ordering; cables outside this range will not fit the clip. The 13 x 25mm ring size determines how close to the connector the core can sit.

Questions about this item

How do I know if the 3.5mm size fits my cable?

The connectors accept cord diameters from 1.5mm to 3.5mm, which is 0.06 to 0.14 inches. Measure your cable; if it falls in that range the clip will close securely.

What does the 3.5mm ferrite core actually do once clipped on?

It suppresses RFI and EMI noise on power, audio, USB or data cables without distorting the signal, improving electromagnetic conditions near the interference source.

Does the clip-on design work with standard USB or audio plugs?

Yes, the 13 by 25mm ring slides over cables up to 3.5mm thick, so typical USB, headset, mouse, keyboard and DVR cords fit without removing connectors.
