What this wrist band does

The Unique-Bargains anti-static wrist band uses a flexible coil cable with an alligator clip to ground the wearer. It is intended for anyone handling ESD-sensitive electronic components or performing computer repair. The adjustable metal bracelet fits wrist girths from 6.5 to 9 inches. A 55 cm coil cable connects the band to the clip.

Before you start work

Verify that the alligator clip can reach a reliable earth point on your workbench or chassis. The cable does not stretch, so the 55 cm length fixes the maximum working radius. Confirm the clip jaws open wide enough for your chosen grounding stud or screw. Ensure the strap can be tightened to your wrist without slipping.

Build and daily use

The strap combines plastic, fabric and metal with a 2 cm width and a 5 x 0.5 x 1.1 cm clip. The metal buckle adjusts to hold the band firmly during long sessions. The coil cable resists tangling and keeps the clip close when not attached. All materials are lightweight so the band stays comfortable over extended repair jobs.
