Compact AAA Battery Holder with Switch

This black plastic case holds three 1.5 V AAA cells and includes a slide switch for simple on/off control. Two 14 cm wire leads exit the housing for direct connection to low-power projects. The unit weighs 19 g and measures 6.2 x 3.7 x 1.6 cm.

Integration Details

The 14 cm leads suit tight enclosures where a PCB-mounted holder would not fit, freeing board space for other components. Polarity follows the internal spring contacts so wiring matches standard AAA orientation. Maximum continuous draw is rated below 2 A and 10 W.

Sustained Use Behaviour

Under continuous load the holder stays within its 2 A limit provided the cells can supply the current without excessive heat. Monitor battery temperature during extended runs and avoid low-quality cells that may overheat. The switch isolates the load cleanly when off.

Questions about this item

How much current can the 3 x AAA battery case handle before it overheats?

The built-in switch is rated for a maximum of 2 A, so keep your load below that limit to avoid excess heat.

Will the plastic housing get hot if I run the case continuously at its 10 W limit?

At the rated 10 W the holder itself stays cool, but the batteries inside can warm up; use quality cells and monitor them during long runs.

What batteries do I need to have on hand before this holder works?

You must supply three standard 1.5 V AAA cells; the case ships empty and includes only the holder, cover, switch and 14 cm leads.
