Each catch has two mounting holes 4.5 mm wide. The holes are spaced either 28 mm or 26 mm apart centre-to-centre, so measure your existing holes before drilling.

Do I need to drill for the screws or can I just use the adhesive pads?

Both options are included. Drill pilot holes for the 16 screws using the 4.5 mm holes, or skip drilling and press the 8 adhesive pads onto clean, dry surfaces — the adhesive will not hold on dusty or oily wood.

How long will the brass finish and magnetic hold last before I need replacements?

The steel body and brass coating resist corrosion under normal indoor use. The magnet does not weaken over time; only physical damage or loose screws would require replacing a catch.
