AC 115/250V 6A EMI filter for small electronics

The Unique-Bargains CW1B-06A-L is a single-phase AC power line filter rated for 6A at 115/250V and 50/60Hz. It suppresses conducted electromagnetic interference on the mains supply. The compact 4.4 x 2.9 x 2.2cm chassis mounts via 4mm holes on 4cm centres. It suits small electronic equipment and measuring instruments needing cleaner power.

Replaces a missing or failed line filter

Install this unit when equipment shows susceptibility to mains-borne noise or must meet conducted-emission limits. The 6A rating limits use to loads below that threshold; higher-current appliances need a larger filter. No integrated surge-protection components are specified, so separate transient protection is required where lightning or switching spikes occur.

Questions about this item

What mounting-hole spacing and screw diameter does the CW1B-06A-L require?

The filter needs two holes spaced 1.6 in (4 cm) apart, each 0.16 in (4 mm) in diameter for M4 hardware.

Which wiring step is most often missed when installing this 6 A EMI filter?

Connecting the earth/ground terminal to chassis ground; omitting it leaves the filter ineffective against common-mode noise.
