Replacement key fob for Smart 453 models

This Unique-Bargains remote replaces the original keyless entry fob for Smart Forfour 453 and Fortwo vehicles from 2015 to 2017. It operates at 433MHz with a 4A chip and includes the integrated door key blade. The unit arrives new with a CR2032 battery already fitted.

No thermal, noise or power-draw concerns

As a passive wireless remote the fob draws negligible current from its coin cell during button presses and emits no audible noise or measurable heat. Normal use consists of brief transmissions for lock, unlock, panic and trunk-hold functions. Battery life will depend on how often the buttons are activated.

Pre-cut key blade and included battery

The package supplies one complete fob with battery installed and the metal key blade ready for cutting. Programming must be performed by a qualified locksmith or dealership before the remote will communicate with the vehicle. No additional software or accessories are bundled.

Questions about this item

How do I install the CWTWB1G767 flip key fob on my 2015 Smart Fortwo and what step is often missed?

A qualified locksmith or dealership must cut the integrated door key and program the 433MHz chip 4A to the vehicle; the step often missed is verifying the fob communicates before the key is cut.

What maintenance will the CWTWB1G767 remote need over time?

The included CR2032 3V coin cell will need replacement when range drops; the plastic-and-metal housing and flip mechanism require no scheduled service.

What is the first limitation I will hit with the CWTWB1G767 under daily use?

The 433MHz signal range and CR2032 battery life are the first limits; heavy use of the four buttons (lock, unlock, panic, trunk hold) drains the cell faster.
