Double Alligator Clip Test Leads

This set includes two pairs of banana plug to alligator clip cables, each one metre long, designed for electrical and laboratory testing work. The leads suit school physics labs and general circuit assembly where quick, temporary connections are needed. Insulated plastic boots cover the connectors for safer handling during use.

Build integration and connectivity

Male banana plugs measuring 4 mm diameter plug directly into compatible binding posts or test equipment sockets. Alligator clips open to a maximum width of 6 mm, gripping component leads or test points without soldering. The 2 mm diameter wire keeps the assembly flexible while the insulation boots reduce accidental shorts.

Who this suits and who it does not

Teachers, students and hobbyists needing inexpensive, reusable test leads for low-voltage experiments will find these practical. Buyers requiring shielded cables for high-frequency signals, higher current ratings or permanent installations should look at other solutions.

Questions about this item

How much current can the 0.08 in wire handle before it gets hot?

The 2 mm diameter wire with insulation boots is intended for low-current laboratory and testing use; sustained high current will cause heating.

Do the clips or plugs get warm after a full day of bench testing?

The 0.16 in banana plugs and 0.24 in alligator clips stay cool during typical low-power educational or repair sessions.

What equipment needs 4 mm banana sockets to use these leads?

Any bench power supply, multimeter, oscilloscope or component board fitted with standard 4 mm banana jacks will accept the plugs directly.
