Compact AA Battery Holder with Switch

The Unique-Bargains holder accepts two 1.5V AA cells and includes a built-in slide switch for simple power control. A 15cm lead with dual wires provides a convenient connection point for low-power projects or temporary test rigs. The lightweight plastic body weighs 19g and measures 2.7 x 1.3 x 0.7 inches.

Current and Power Limits

The supplier specifies a maximum continuous current of 2A and a peak power ceiling of 5W. Exceeding either value risks overheating the internal contacts or the switch mechanism. The short 15cm cable also adds a small resistive drop that becomes noticeable near the current limit.

Capacity and Practical Headroom

Two fresh alkaline cells typically deliver around 3V and can sustain modest loads such as LED indicators, small sensors or hobby motors within the 2A rating. High-drain devices like miniature heaters or stall-prone motors will hit the 5W limit quickly and should use a dedicated power supply instead.

Questions about this item

Should I pick the version with the on/off switch or without it?

This holder includes a built-in slide switch, so you can cut power without removing the batteries.

What does the 5 W maximum power rating mean for my project?

It limits the load to about 2 A at 3 V, so it suits low-draw devices like LED lights or small sensors.

How does the 15 cm cable length affect placement?

The 15 cm leads give enough reach to mount the box away from the circuit while keeping voltage drop low.
