Front Hood Gas Struts Red 2005-2012

These gas struts fit the front hood of ISUZU D-Max models from 2005 to 2012 and Rodeo RA models from 2002 to 2011. The pair replaces worn lift supports with a red metal finish. Installation uses the included accessories and basic hand tools.

Fitment Limits and Cold Weather

They suit owners restoring hood function on the listed vehicles without OEM parts. Buyers with other model years or different mounting points cannot use this kit. Performance drops below minus 20 degrees when oil thickens and the rod becomes hard to compress.

49 cm Total Length Decides Fit

The 49 cm total length must match the original strut exactly for the hood to open and close correctly. Measure the old unit before ordering because this dimension cannot be adjusted. The 10 mm hole diameter and 12x8 mm hole spacing must also align with the vehicle brackets.

Questions about this item

The listing shows 49 cm total length and 30 cm compressed length — which one tells me if the strut will fit my D-Max?

Compare the 30 cm compressed length and 12×8 mm hole size to your original strut; if both match, the 49 cm total length will suit the front hood on 2005–2012 D-Max and 2002–2011 Rodeo RA.

The specs quote 46 cm extended length and 16 cm rod length — what does that mean for how far my bonnet opens?

The 46 cm extended length is the maximum centre-to-centre distance when the bonnet is fully open, and the 16 cm rod travels inside the 18 mm housing to reach it.

The mounting holes are 12×8 mm with a 10 mm bolt hole — what hardware standard does that follow?

The holes accept 10 mm diameter bolts in a 12 mm by 8 mm slot pattern; the kit includes four installation accessories that match this pattern.
