Replacement Key Fob for GMC Acadia and Terrain

This four-button proximity remote operates at 433MHz and uses a 46 chip. It fits GMC Acadia models from 2017 to 2020 and GMC Terrain models from 2018 to 2020. The unit includes a built-in transponder and a physical door key blade. It is a complete replacement fob, not a shell-only product.

Verify FCC ID and Programming Requirements Before

Confirm the original remote carries FCC ID HYQ1EA and matches the product images exactly. The fob requires professional programming and key cutting by a qualified locksmith or dealership. A working key fob must already be present to add this unit. Battery type CR2032 is included.

Upgrades Lost or Damaged Factory Remotes

This unit replaces a broken or missing OEM fob and adds remote engine start alongside lock, unlock and panic functions. The jump is worth it when the original remote fails or a spare is needed. It is not for vehicles outside the listed model years or for buyers needing a simple key shell without electronics.

Questions about this item

Does the HYQ1EA fob arrive with a battery and the door key, or must I buy either separately?

The package includes one complete remote with a CR2032 battery already fitted and the integrated door key blade; nothing else is required to start programming.

How do I confirm the HYQ1EA is the correct version for my 2018 GMC Terrain versus other fobs?

Match the FCC ID HYQ1EA, the 433MHz frequency and the 46 chip marking on your original remote; the listing fits Acadia 2017-2020 and Terrain 2018-2020 only.

After a locksmith cuts and programs the HYQ1EA, what does the 433MHz 46-chip spec actually give me in daily use?

It enables the four-button functions — lock, unlock, panic and remote engine start — through the vehicle's factory proximity system at the specified frequency and chip protocol.
