M20 90° Cable Gland for 9-14mm Cables

These IP68-rated nylon glands accept cables from 9mm to 14mm diameter with an M20 thread measuring 20mm across and 15mm long. The 90-degree elbow design routes wires at a right angle inside enclosures. Two pieces are included, each supplied with a locknut and washer for immediate fitting.

IP68 Protection Limits in Dynamic Use

The gland maintains its seal between -20°C and +80°C during movement, with brief tolerance to 100°C. In fixed installations the range extends from -40°C to +100°C, peaking at 120°C momentarily. The nylon and rubber construction resists water, dust, acid and alcohol, but the IP68 rating applies only when the cable diameter stays within the 9mm to 14mm window and the locknut is fully tightened.

Straightforward Install with One Common Pitfall

Thread the gland into a 20mm clearance hole, pass the cable through the strain-relief cone, then tighten the cap to compress the seal. The included washer seats against the enclosure wall. The main error is using undersized cable below 9mm, which leaves a leak path, or over-tightening the cap until the nylon threads strip.

Questions about this item

Which cable diameter range does the M20 gland cover?

The M20 gland fits cables from 9 mm to 14 mm (0.35" to 0.55") and includes a strain-relief sleeve to protect the wire at the exit point.

What does the IP68 rating mean when the gland is installed in an enclosure?

When correctly tightened with the supplied locknut and washer, the gland provides a dust-tight seal and withstands continuous water immersion, keeping the enclosure interior dry.

What thread standard does the M20 gland use and what panel thickness can it clamp?

The gland uses an M20 × 1.5 mm pitch thread that is 15 mm long, allowing it to secure panels up to roughly 15 mm thick when the locknut is fully engaged.
