PG7 IP68 Cable Gland Pair

This two-piece set provides PG7-threaded cable glands rated IP68 for waterproof and dust-proof sealing. Each unit accepts cable diameters from 4.5mm to 7.8mm and includes a locknut and washer for secure mounting. The nylon and rubber construction resists acid and alcohol exposure. They suit junction boxes and enclosures where cable entry must stay sealed.

Installation And Common Issues

The glands thread into a 12.5mm diameter hole with an 8.5mm thread length and tighten via the supplied locknut. A built-in strain relief clamps the cable to prevent pull-out stress on connections. Over-tightening the compression nut can deform the rubber seal and reduce ingress protection. Ensure the cable outer diameter falls within the 4.5-7.8mm range before committing to the install.

Pre-Order Checks

Verify that your enclosure wall thickness accommodates the 8.5mm thread length and that a 12.5mm clearance hole is available. Confirm the operating temperature stays within -40C to +100C static or -20C to +80C dynamic limits. The total assembled length of 80.6mm and 21.5mm width must fit your internal spacing. Only two glands are supplied per pack.

Questions about this item

How can I confirm the PG7 gland is sealing correctly after tightening it on a 6 mm cable?

Tighten the locknut until the rubber seal compresses evenly around the cable; the gland should then resist water ingress when tested to IP68 and hold the wire firmly without slippage.

What comes in the pack and do I need any extra parts to mount it?

The pack includes two PG7 cable glands, each supplied with a locknut and washer; no additional components are required for installation.

Which cable diameter range does this PG7 version cover?

This model accepts cables from 4.5 mm to 7.8 mm (0.18" to 0.31") and has a 12.5 mm thread diameter with an 8.5 mm thread length.
