Vehicle Side-Cover Grommet Kit

This kit supplies four sets of rubber oval grommets designed for motorcycle side covers and similar body panels. Each set contains two large and two small grommets to replace worn or cracked originals. The parts suit a wide range of vehicle models where oval mounting points are used.

Check Mounting Hole Dimensions

Verify that your side-cover tabs match the slot sizes before ordering. The large grommets accept a 17 x 7 mm slot while the small grommets accept a 10 x 7 mm slot. Confirm the overall grommet footprints of 36 x 25 mm and 26 x 22 mm fit the available recess on your fairing or cover.

Durable Rubber For Repeated Removal

The moulded rubber construction resists cracking during repeated installation and removal of body panels. A light coating of grease on the grommet lips and cover tabs eases insertion and reduces friction wear over time. The 7 mm thickness on all pieces maintains a consistent stand-off under sustained vibration and thermal cycling.

Questions about this item

How many grommets of each size come in the 4-set package?

The package contains four sets. Each set supplies two large oval grommets measuring 36 x 25 x 7 mm and two small oval grommets measuring 26 x 22 x 7 mm, giving eight large and eight small pieces in total.

Which grommet size should I pick for a 17 mm slot versus a 10 mm slot?

Use the large oval grommets with the 17 x 7 mm slot; their body is 36 x 25 mm. Use the small oval grommets with the 10 x 7 mm slot; their body is 26 x 22 mm. Both share the same 7 mm thickness.

What does the 7 mm thickness mean when the grommet is fitted to a side cover?

The 7 mm thickness is the compressed height of the rubber washer once seated. It fills the gap between the cover tab and the frame, damping vibration and preventing the cover from cracking during installation or removal.
