A 12 V Peltier module delivers 77 W of cooling or heating in a 40×40×3.5 mm package with a 29 cm power cord
This 40 mm square Peltier device runs on a 12 V supply and delivers up to 77 W of cooling power. It contains no moving parts and uses semiconductor junctions sandwiched between ceramic plates. A 29 cm power cord is fitted, with red wire for positive and black for negative. The module must be mounted against a heat sink on the hot side at all times.
Hobbyists building portable coolers, CPU test rigs or custom drink chillers can use this module by reversing polarity to switch between cooling and heating. It is not suited for continuous high-load cooling without a properly sized heat sink and thermal interface material. Buyers who need silent operation with no external fan or liquid loop should look elsewhere. The unit cannot operate reliably above 83 °C ambient or below -55 °C.
The single figure that decides fit is the 77 W Qcmax rating at the nominal 12 V input, with a maximum voltage of 15.5 V and 8 A peak current. Internal resistance sits between 1.5 and 1.8 ohms, and the hot-side temperature must not exceed 60 °C when no load is applied. Exceeding these limits will damage the module.

The box contains only the TEC1-12708 cooler with its 29 cm power cord. A heat sink for the hot side and a 12 V supply capable of 8 A are not included and must be sourced separately.
Choose the TEC1-12708 when you need up to 77 W of cooling power (Qcmax) and can provide a heat sink that handles the full thermal load. For smaller enclosures with limited heat-sink space, a lower-wattage module would be more appropriate.
The 77 W figure is the maximum heat the cold side can pump (Qcmax) when driven at 12 V and 8 A with the hot side held at its optimum temperature. Actual cooling capacity drops as the hot-side temperature rises, so a properly sized heat sink is essential to reach rated performance.
