Chrome projection headlight assembly with LED position and turn signals for 2011+ Peterbilt 579 and 587 trucks, passenger side, DOT/SAE approved, plugs into existing wiring
This chrome projection headlight assembly fits 2011 and newer Peterbilt 579 and 587 models on the passenger side. It combines a halogen projector low beam with integrated LED position and turn-signal functions. The unit is sold individually and carries DOT/SAE approval for on-road use.
Low beam operation uses an H9 quartz halogen bulb rated at 65 watts and 5.25 amps on a 12-volt DC system. High beam uses an H1 quartz halogen bulb rated at 55 watts and 4.58 amps. LED position and turn-signal circuits draw minimal additional current during normal driving.
The assembly measures 29 by 18 by 15 inches and weighs 16.4 pounds, featuring a patent-pending lens design with reflective turn-signal diffusers for wider visibility. It plugs directly into the existing wiring harness without modifications. Buyers needing a driver-side unit or a different model-year fitment must select the correct variant separately.

Plug the assembly directly into the existing wiring harness; the step often missed is confirming the low-beam H9 halogen bulb draws 5.25 amps and the high-beam H1 draws 4.58 amps so the circuit matches.
Replace the H9 quartz halogen low-beam bulb (65 W) and the H1 quartz halogen high-beam bulb (55 W) when they burn out; the LED position and turn-signal modules are non-serviceable.
The H1 quartz halogen high-beam bulb runs at 55 watts and 4.58 amps, so heat buildup in the 29 x 18 x 15 inch chrome housing is the first limiting factor.
