Chrome license frame with 14 red LEDs

This chrome license-plate frame integrates 14 super-bright red LEDs behind a clear polycarbonate lens. It measures 16.8 by 7.55 by 1.1 inches and weighs .58 lbs. The unit is sold new as a single piece under part number 50122.

Replaces a standard non-illuminated frame

The upgrade adds rear visibility with red illumination while keeping the same mounting footprint. It is worth fitting when the factory frame has no lighting or when the original LEDs have dimmed or failed. The clear lens protects the diodes without changing the light colour.

Suits drivers wanting a simple bolt-on light upgrade

Buyers who need a different LED colour, a smoked lens or a frame that integrates a backup camera should look at other options. The six-month manufacturer warranty covers defects but does not extend to damage from improper installation.

Questions about this item

What are the exact outer dimensions of the 50122 license frame so I can confirm it fits my plate?

The frame measures 16.8 inches wide, 7.55 inches tall and 1.1 inches deep, matching standard North American plate sizes.

How do I wire the 14 red LEDs and which step do installers often miss?

Connect the two-wire pigtail to a 12 V switched circuit; the step most people forget is grounding the black wire cleanly to bare metal.

When will the polycarbonate lens or LEDs need replacement on this 0.58 lb unit?

The sealed polycarbonate lens is non-serviceable; if moisture enters or LEDs dim after years, replace the entire frame.
