Direct Replacement

The Acoustic Research HTB80 remote is a direct replacement for the original unit supplied with the matching soundbar. It reproduces every button and function so the system behaves exactly as it did from the factory. The unit arrives pre-programmed and ready to operate once batteries are fitted. It is intended for owners who have lost or damaged the original handset.

Infrared Operation

The handset uses infrared transmission, so it requires a clear line of sight to the soundbar’s sensor. No pairing, Wi-Fi or Bluetooth setup is involved and no hub or app is needed. Two AAA batteries power the remote; they are the only extra item required before use. The remote controls the single supported device without additional configuration.

Battery Powered

Power draw is limited to the two AAA cells, so there is no mains adapter or external supply to accommodate. The infrared emitter produces no audible noise and the remote generates no perceptible heat during normal operation. Battery life will depend on usage patterns and the cells installed. The lightweight handset adds no thermal load to the surrounding equipment.
