Direct replacement remote

This universal remote is a direct replacement for the original ALPINE 5970, CHMS650RF, 01T75235W03 and CRA1656SP remote controls. It replicates every button and function of the original unit. The device arrives pre-programmed so it works immediately after inserting batteries. It is intended for owners of compatible Alpine car audio systems needing a new handset.

Infrared single-device control

The remote uses infrared wireless technology to communicate with the head unit. It supports control of only one device at a time. Infrared operation requires a clear line of sight between the handset and the receiver on the stereo. Users cannot operate equipment hidden behind panels or inside closed consoles.

Battery-powered plastic handset

The unit is powered by standard AAA batteries which are not included in the package. Its lightweight plastic construction makes it easy to hold and store in a vehicle glove compartment or door pocket. Button layout matches the original remote exactly for familiar daily operation. A 12-month guarantee covers manufacturing defects.

Questions about this item

Does this remote replace the Alpine 5970 or the CHMS650RF model?

It is a direct replacement for both the Alpine 5970 and the CHMS650RF, matching all original button functions.

What does "supports 1 device" mean for daily use?

The remote controls a single Alpine unit, so you use it for one head unit rather than multiple components.

How does the infrared connection affect range?

Infrared requires line-of-sight to the Alpine receiver, so you must point the remote directly at the front panel.
