Direct replacement remote

The Universal CR248RED is a direct replacement for the original CROSLEY CR248RED remote control. It replicates every button and function of the original unit. The remote arrives with all functions pre-installed and ready to use immediately after inserting batteries. It operates using standard infrared wireless technology.

Single-device infrared users

This remote suits owners of a compatible Crosley device who need a like-for-like replacement for a lost or damaged handset. It supports control of exactly one device at a time. Buyers who want to consolidate multiple home entertainment components into a single universal remote should look at a multi-device model instead. It also does not suit setups requiring radio-frequency or Bluetooth control.

Battery-powered infrared setup

The handset fits into an existing infrared system without any pairing or programming steps. It requires two AAA batteries to operate, which are not included in the package. Because it mirrors the original button layout, it frees the user from learning new control schemes or navigating on-screen setup menus. A 12 month guarantee covers the unit.

Questions about this item

Does this remote need anything besides batteries to operate?

No, it uses infrared transmission and ships with the original button layout already programmed, so inserting two AAA batteries makes it ready to use.

Will the CR248RED interfere with older infrared devices I keep nearby?

It only controls the single Crosley component it is paired to, so other infrared equipment in the same room will not respond to its signals.

How can I confirm the CR248RED is working after I put the batteries in?

Point it at the Crosley unit and press any button; the device should respond immediately because the remote arrives pre-configured with all original functions.
