Replacement for Luxman RC-406

This universal remote is a direct replacement for the original Luxman RC-406 handset. It arrives with all original button functions pre-installed and requires only AAA batteries to operate. The unit supports control of one device and uses infrared wireless technology. It is intended for owners who need a like-for-like substitute without programming steps.

Infrared single-device control

The remote communicates solely via infrared, so it requires direct line of sight to the Luxman component. It is designed to operate exactly one device and cannot manage multiple pieces of equipment from a single handset. Buyers who want to consolidate control of several components or who need radio-frequency or Bluetooth operation will find this unit unsuitable.

Pre-programmed button layout

Every button mirrors the original RC-406 layout, so no code entry or learning process is required. Insert the supplied AAA batteries and the remote is ready to use immediately. This fixed layout means the remote cannot be reconfigured for other brands or custom macros.

Questions about this item

Does the RC-406 support multiple devices or just one?

The remote supports only one device, so it is intended as a direct replacement for the original Luxman RC-406 rather than a multi-device universal controller.

What does the 12-month guarantee cover once I start using the remote?

The 12-month guarantee covers defects in materials and workmanship; the remote arrives with all original functions pre-installed and only requires AAA batteries to operate.

How does the infrared interface limit the way I can use this remote?

Infrared requires direct line-of-sight to the Luxman component, so the remote will not work through walls, cabinet doors or around corners.
