Direct Replacement for Yamaha CD Players

This universal remote replaces the original Yamaha CDX2000-CDFUNCT, CDX480-CDFUNCT and CDX490-CDFUNCT remote controls. It replicates every button and function of the factory handset. The unit arrives pre-programmed and ready to operate after inserting batteries. It is designed specifically for owners of those three Yamaha CD models.

Ideal for Lost or Broken Original Remotes

Buyers who need a functional replacement for a missing or damaged original remote will find this unit matches the original layout exactly. Households requiring control of multiple device types from one handset should look elsewhere, as this remote supports only a single device. It is not suitable for users needing programmable macros or learning functions.

Controls Exactly One Device via Infrared

The specification that determines compatibility is the single-device infrared design. The remote operates solely with the listed Yamaha CD players using line-of-sight infrared transmission. It cannot be configured for amplifiers, televisions or other components. Battery power is supplied by standard AAA cells.

Questions about this item

Which Yamaha CD players does this remote control support?

This universal remote is a direct replacement for the original Yamaha CDX2000, CDX480 and CDX490 CD function remotes.

What functions will work when I put batteries in this remote?

It arrives with all original button functions pre-installed, so every button operates exactly like the supplied Yamaha remote once AAA batteries are fitted.

How does the infrared connection limit where I can use the remote?

Infrared requires a clear line of sight to the player's sensor, so the remote must be pointed directly at the front panel without obstacles blocking the beam.
