Direct replacement for five RCA models

This universal remote replaces the original RCA RP9978, RP9953, 224875, RV3798 and RV9935A handsets. It controls a single device using infrared transmission. Every button from the original remote is replicated, so all functions remain available. The unit arrives pre-programmed and ready to use once batteries are inserted.

Upgrade from a lost or damaged original

When the factory remote is lost, broken or no longer responds, this replacement restores full control without needing a multi-device setup. It supports only one device, so it suits owners who want a like-for-like substitute rather than a consolidated universal remote. The jump is worthwhile whenever the original handset is unavailable and no additional device control is required.

Fits a simple infrared setup

The remote runs on AAA batteries and communicates solely by infrared, so it requires direct line of sight to the RCA component. No pairing, Wi-Fi or Bluetooth configuration is involved, freeing the user from setup menus. It slots into any existing single-device infrared system without extra cabling or hub hardware.
