Ultra-compact condenser microphone

The Uniwit Mini Microphone is a unidirectional condenser capsule built for mobile voice capture. It targets podcasters, vloggers and singers who need a lightweight tabletop mic that plugs straight into a 3.5 mm jack. The 2.2 inch body and 0.03 kg weight make it easy to carry in a laptop bag or pocket.

3.5 mm plug with 1.5 m cable

The single specification that decides fit is the 3.5 mm TRS connector on a 1.5 metre lead. Any device with a matching socket — smartphone, tablet, laptop or desktop — accepts the microphone without drivers. If the host lacks a 3.5 mm port, a separate adapter is required for iPhone or Android models.

Battery-powered unidirectional pickup

A 3 V internal battery powers the condenser element, delivering a -30 dB sensitivity across a 30 Hz to 20 kHz response. The unidirectional pattern rejects off-axis sound during extended recording sessions, while the plug-and-play design means no external power supply or software setup is needed.

Questions about this item

How does the -30 dB sensitivity affect recording levels in practice?

The -30 dB sensitivity means the microphone outputs a relatively low signal level, so you will need to increase the input gain on your phone, computer or audio interface to achieve a healthy recording volume without adding excessive noise.

What does the 3.5 mm connection limit regarding device compatibility?

The 3.5 mm TRRS plug works directly with devices that have a combined headset jack; smartphones or laptops with separate microphone and headphone sockets, or no 3.5 mm port at all, will require a suitable splitter or USB-C/Lightning adapter.

What does the package include for mounting the microphone?

The box contains the mini microphone and a small desktop stand that holds the mic upright on a table; no boom arm, shock mount or clip for attaching to clothing is supplied.
