The UOTEK UT-782 adds two RS-232 ports to a desktop or industrial PC through a single PCI Express x1 slot. It targets engineers and integrators who need reliable serial connectivity for POS terminals, ATMs, automation equipment or legacy peripherals. The card uses a DR44 female connector that breaks out to two standard DB9 interfaces. Each port supports full modem control signals including DCD, DTR, DSR, RTS, CTS and RI.

Verify Slot And Cable Clearance

Confirm the host system has a free PCI Express x1 slot and that the chassis provides enough rear-bracket space for the DR44 connector. The adapter requires a DR44-to-DB9 breakout cable which is not included with the card. Ensure the operating system matches the supported list such as Windows 2000 through 8.1, Linux 2.4.x or 2.6.x, VxWorks or Windows CE. No additional power connector is needed on the card itself.
