Solar charging headphones

Urbanista Los Angeles headphones integrate Exeger Powerfoyle solar cells into the headband to convert indoor and outdoor light into continuous power. The design targets listeners who want wireless audio without routine plug-in charging sessions. Bluetooth connectivity pairs with phones, tablets and computers for cable-free playback.

Works with light exposure and app control

The solar panel replenishes the battery whenever the headband sees light, reducing dependence on wall outlets. A companion app for iOS and Android shows the Powerfoyle sensor status and remaining battery life. Hybrid active noise cancellation and an ambient sound mode are toggled from the ear cup for travel or office use.

Replaces headphones that need frequent wired

The 80-hour reserve keeps audio running through dark periods before light restores the charge. Buyers who need a smaller form factor or a lower price point will find this over-ear model less suitable. The sand colourway is the only finish described in the data.

Questions about this item

How long does the 80-hour reserve last when no light reaches the headband?

The built-in 80-hour battery reserve powers the headphones in total darkness and begins recharging automatically once the Powerfoyle strip is exposed to any light source again.

Do the headphones stay cool and quiet during all-day wear with noise cancelling active?

Hybrid active noise cancellation runs silently with no fan or moving parts, so the ear cups remain comfortable and produce no audible hiss during extended sessions.

Which phone and app are needed to monitor the solar charging status?

The Urbanista companion app works on any iOS or Android smartphone and displays real-time Powerfoyle sensor data, battery level and usage tips.
