  • 20-layer nano-coated German SCHOTT glass for high light transmission
  • Ultra-slim 49mm frame avoids vignetting on wide lenses
  • Tough magnalium construction built for lifetime durability

49mm Variable ND Filter for Creative Exposure

The Urth 49mm ND2-32 Variable ND Lens Filter Plus+ lets you cut 1 to 5 f-stops so you can open the aperture for shallow depth of field or slow the shutter for motion blur in changing light. It is built for photographers and videographers who want precise exposure control without swapping fixed filters.

20-Layer Nano-Coating and Locking Rim Benefits

The Plus+ range uses 20 layers of nano-coating on German SCHOTT glass to increase light transmission, keep the transmission curve consistent and make the surface easier to clean while resisting water, oil and scratches. A min-max locking rim stops the ring from over-rotating and prevents the X-effect that can ruin wide-angle shots.

Suits Single-Lens Shooters Needing 49mm Thread

This filter suits creators who work with a 49mm thread and want one tool for both stills and video in variable conditions. It is not for lenses with a different thread size, for users who need more than 5 stops of reduction, or for anyone who prefers a set of fixed ND filters instead of a variable design.

Questions about this item

How often will the 20-layer nano-coating on the SCHOTT glass need to be cleaned or replaced?

The nano-coating repels water oil and scratches so routine cleaning is less frequent; the coating itself is permanent and does not wear out under normal use.

At which stop setting does the X-effect first become visible with this ND2-32 filter?

The min-max locking rim stops rotation before the X-effect can appear across the full 1-5 stop range.

Does the ultra-slim magnalium rim heat up or affect exposure during all-day video shoots?

The lightweight magnalium rim stays cool and the 20-layer coating maintains consistent transmission so exposure remains stable during extended use.
