Eye Bolt 5/8 in 12 in Shank

This forged steel eye bolt has a 5/8 inch diameter shank that extends 12 inches. The eye provides a 1-1/4 inch inside diameter for hook or chain attachment. It is intended for straight-line lifting and rigging tasks.

Capacity and headroom

The long shank allows engagement through thick structural members or multiple plates. Working load limits depend on the specific grade and the angle of pull; angled lifts reduce capacity significantly. The bolt runs out of thread engagement if the receiving material is thinner than the shank length.

Questions about this item

Will the 5/8 inch diameter eye bolt thread into the existing 5/8 inch tapped holes on my older lifting brackets?

Yes, the 5/8 inch diameter matches standard 5/8 inch threaded holes, so it will engage the existing threads on your older brackets directly.

How can I confirm the 12 inch shank is fully seated and the 1-1/4 inch eye is oriented correctly after installation?

Tighten until the shoulder contacts the mounting surface, then verify the eye ID measures 1-1/4 inches and rotates freely without binding on the shank.

Does the box include matching nuts or washers for the 5/8 inch threads, or must I source them separately?

The package contains only the eye bolt itself; matching 5/8 inch nuts and washers are not included and must be purchased separately.
