Charges Motorola XPR7550 and compatible radios from 12 V or 24 V vehicle power via a self-adapting cigarette-lighter plug
This 12V/24V docking station charges Ni-MH, Ni-CD and Li-ion batteries for the Motorola XPR7550 and a long list of compatible MotoTRBO portables and mobiles. It plugs into a vehicle cigarette socket and automatically selects the correct voltage, so fleet installers and mobile operators can keep radios powered during extended shifts without a mains supply.
The unit draws power directly from the vehicle electrical system at either 12V or 24V and operates silently with no moving parts. Heat is dissipated through the plastic housing during normal charging cycles, and the self-adapting input prevents excessive current draw when the engine is running or the vehicle is stationary.
Compatibility is limited to the exact model numbers listed by the supplier, including XPR7550, XPR6300, XPR6550, DP3600, XiRP8200 and the other cited part codes. Radios not appearing in that list will not charge correctly, so buyers must verify their exact model number before purchasing.

Plug the self-adapting cigarette lighter plug into a 12V or 24V socket; the step often missed is verifying the socket stays live with the ignition off so the radio can charge while parked.
The cigarette lighter plug contacts can oxidise; clean them periodically and replace the fuse inside the plug if charging stops.
The plug body heats up during sustained 24V operation; if it becomes too hot to touch, unplug it and allow it to cool before resuming.
