Questions about this item

Does the 72 cm antenna get hot or draw extra power during long transmit sessions?

The antenna is a passive element rated for up to 20 W of RF power and has no active electronics, so it does not generate heat or consume power itself.

My radio uses an SMA-Female connector — will this antenna attach directly?

Yes, the antenna terminates in an SMA-Female connector, matching radios such as the Baofeng UV-5R, UV-82, UV-888S, F8HP, Retevis H-777 and Kenwood models listed.

Will the 136-174 MHz and 400-520 MHz coverage work with my older VHF/UHF handheld?

The antenna covers both VHF (136-174 MHz) and UHF (400-520 MHz) bands with 3.2/5.2 dBi gain and VSWR below 1.5, so it will improve signal on any compatible legacy radio.
